A journey into the heart of Japan’s deep snow culture. This series captures the magic of Hokkaido’s endless powder, where playful lines weave through ancient birch forests and the mountains invite pure expression. Riding with Konsti Ottner, I sought to translate the feeling of weightlessness, the contrast of speed and stillness, and the quiet moments that make a freeride trip more than just turns in the snow.
Traveling by camper, we embraced the rhythm of the island - chasing storms, waking up to fresh snow, and venturing into the unknown. From remote backcountry zones to quiet onsens at the end of the day, this journey was as much about exploration as it was about riding. A first encounter with Japan’s winter, captured through the lens of movement, light, and the unique culture that surrounds it.
